Ronald Koeman has been told his job as Everton manager is safe. The Toffees have lost four of their last five Premier League matches and are sitting just two points above the relegation zone following their latest loss – at home to Burnley on Sunday.
Having seen Koeman spend £150million to rebuild his squad over the summer, an increasing number of fans are questioning whether he is the right man to lead Everton forward.
But the club’s majority shareholder, Farhad Moshiri, has told talkSPORT’s Jim White that the Dutchman retains his support.
Moshiri said: “We are in a bad moment, but we have played the four title contenders – three of them away. Burnley was the only unexpected loss.
“The four pre-qualifying UEFA [Europa League] and two group games on Thursday’s haven’t helped. There is mental and physical fatigue and seven injuries.
“These are early days and Koeman has my total support. We have great fans and they deserve better. We know the expectations by our honest and objective fans and we will not let them down.”
