Statistics suggest that Barcelona compensated for the loss of the best dribbler in the world when Neymar departed by signing another with those incredible talents in Ousmane Dembele.
However, the serious injury that the youngster has sustained will force him to undergo an operation and keep him out of action until 2018.
It leaves Ernesto Valverde now needing to look at alternatives to replace the Frenchman in the wider area and it will give another summer signing the big chance he has been craving.
A much more prominent role will now be given to Gerard Deulofeu, who is the favourite to fill the void until Dembele returns from his injury.
He entered against Getafe once the former Borussia Dortmund man pulled up and was one of the Blaugrana’s better performers, also being involved heavily in Denis Suarez’s equaliser.
The man who now promised so much during his time at La Masia but who has largely failed to deliver on that now has between three to four months to show what he can do.
Since returning, Deulofeu has impressed in flashes, having had both good and bad moments but still yet to truly re-announce himself to the Blaugrana faithful but now without Dembele, there’s no excuse.
Another option for Valverde is to utilise Denis Suarez in a more advanced role or even pushing Aleix Vidal forward to feature on the right of the front three where he could shine without so much defensive responsibilities.
Rafinha and Arda Turan could also be candidates to feature but both are currently sidelined through injury.
